OpenChatKit

The open-source community Together has developed OpenChatKit, the first open-source alternative to ChatGPT. It is based on EleutherAI’s GPT-NeoX-20B, a language model with 20 billion parameters, and has been trained with 43 million instructions for chat use. Tests have shown that the chatbot outperforms the base model in the industry-standard HELM benchmark.

OpenChatKit includes the base bot and the tools to customize it. It consists of four components: an instruction-tuned language model, instructions for fine-tuning, an extensible retrieval system and a model fine-tuned from GPT-JT-6B for moderation.
