Tongyi Qianwen by Alibaba

Alibaba Group has unveiled its large language model (LLM), Tongyi Qianwen, which is designed to be utilized across Alibaba’s operations. The company stated that users will be granted access to this bilingual program which supports both Chinese and English languages.

Tongyi Qianwen, which will be available on the DingTalk enterprise communication and collaboration platform, features automated email writing and meeting note summarization. Customers can also generate promotional campaign plans and business proposal drafts with the help of easy prompts. The model is based on Tongyi, a custom pre-trained model framework which consolidates different AI models.

The model will also equip Alibaba’s smart speaker, Tmall Genie, with the capacity to interact with customers in China in a more conversational and engaging way, such as providing them with healthy diet plans, workout playlists, and travel tips.
